Welmax delivers revolutionary K-TIG welding station to Aibel
During the last two years Welmax have designed a unique fully integrated automated welding station using the K- TIG process developed by Professor Laurie Jarvis and his team at K-TIG Australia.
The K-TIG process is unique in itself, but combined with the software, control system, design and user interface developed by Welmax, this truly is a revolutionary machine in the field of automated welding.
The welding machine increases the efficiency by 10 times compared to other competitive welding production process.
3,5 min weld time on 10″ duplex pipe with 11 mm wall thickness.
14 min weld time on superduplex with 15 mm wall thickness with V bevel.
During the last days the FAT has been successfully completed, and the station will be installed and ready to start production at Aibel Haugesunds premises within few weeks.
Thomas Liabø from Aibel during the FAT: We are very pleased to be the first recipient of such an extraordinary welding station, and look forward to fully integrate this in our everyday production. We are convinced that the welding station will be a great addition to our production facility resulting in saved time and money for our company.
